  1. Hello,

Has anyone worked with the BNP Paribas broker or the bank in general?

    I would appreciate any information.

    • I do not know this broker, but if it belongs to a bank, it is most likely to be trustworthy.

  2. Here one is in the process of transferring ING’s national securities portfolio to BNP Paribas Personal Investors. Since the entry into force of the reform last April I have been considering it very seriously for the Spanish securities (which are the only ones affected, the rest remain the same), since I consider that among the brokers of systemic banks Is the one that most convinced me by its conditions. Finally I have decided to take the step.

    Pros:

    – Systemic bank, both the broker and the other agents (members of the Central Counterparty Entity-BME Clearing, etc.) are from the BNP Paribas group. The orange broker subcontracts to R4.

    – Very good purchase commissions for amounts lower than € 2500 (€ 4.75) and even € 1000 (€ 2.75).

    – Possibility of contracting the active account, remunerated to 0.3%, to park the accumulated liquidity.

    Cons:

    – Custody Commission. It is the toll to pay for operating with systemic banks. € 20 quarterly in flat rate format makes it acceptable as the portfolio acquires a certain volume. If I compare it with the orange broker this commission is partially compensated (or totally, according to our buyer pace) for the lower commissions of purchase.

    – Commission for the collection of dividends. Another toll. Fixed amount of € 1 + VAT (yes that would annoy more than it was variable with some minimum, in the style of other brokers of banks). I must admit that is what I least like, although its fixed nature makes as the amount of dividends grow, this bite is less.

    – International markets only in the euro area. That is, it does not allow access to the UK or American stock exchange. As the international portfolio left, at the moment, ING does not affect me so much. A pity that to be able to operate in these markets have to have a high patrimony that allows you to access your private banking (with access to all the world markets). Hopefully in the future BNP Paribas online broker will allow access to these markets. Yes I have Unilever shares of Amsterdam stock that I could pass, but custody fees would penalize me too much (there is custody fee for the European market other than the one charged for the domestic market).

I will continue looking, in any case and for always having alternatives to the sight, some other broker for my foreign values, but here it is that without haste (there have been no changes and we are all with the same rules, with omnibus accounts), since with ING I am reasonably satisfied. The day that the international portfolio has a certain critical volume and allows me to assume the commissions-toll I will look for accommodation in a system bank broker (in which the broker is also from the bank itself, not as ING and its subcontract to R4) . If by then BNP Paribas Personal Investors offers access to the UK and USA markets (in which I am, besides the Dutch market), perfect, if not, then to others. Or perhaps it will transfer to BNP Paribas the shares of the euro market that it may have if they have already acquired that critical volume. What I said, without hurry.

    • Thanks for the info.

Do you know which investment guarantee fund is attached and what is the coverage?

  3. French and € 70,000.

In the general contracting conditions, in addition, it informs the possibility of using nominative account, noting that it has associated higher costs (without specifying them).

  4. What are the buy / sell commissions in Euro zone and that additional custody commission that you comment?

  5. Commissions for the European market:

    Commission by operation:

    Up to € 25,000: € 19.75
    > € 25,000: 0.15%

Custody fee: 0.05% if cash. Minimum € 20 + quarter VAT
